Wind, lake and roasted chestnuts…

About 6 years ago we made a very important decision as a family that we will spend as much time outside as we can, we will stay active and use car only if we really have to. Kids school was close enough that we could easily walk –  about 15-20 minutes of brisk walking.  We challenged ourselves to walk to school every single day no matter what the weather was. I don’t know how we did it but we did it and we miss those days badly. Not even one ride to school in 3 years. Rain, snow storm, strong wind you name it and we surely faced it on the way. I remember some neighbours stopping and offering a ride not knowing about the reason we walk:) and kids ( Maria was not even 4 back then) were proudly saying: “no, thank you we like walking”.  Today, unfortunately the school is much farther and the after school schedule is very busy, therefore  we have no choice but use the car but whenever  we can, we still walk. We also try to plug in even very short visits to the lake.  Yesterday was no exception, strong wind and on and off rain was just a piece of cake:)
