Mission Trench Coat
Last fall I was desperately trying to find a classic, wool coat in camel color. I checked many stores but wasn’t lucky to find a style that was just perfect for me. Either the color wasn’t right or the blend. Also, the oversized style and big collar didn’t work for me. I’m rather petite person therefore I have to be very careful with the cut otherwise the clothing will easily overwhelm my small frame. I decided to wait till spring and see what is available in stores. Of course, the spring coats are made of lighter fabrics like cotton ore linen and will not compensate the warm, wool coat but I was thinking of a new addition to my early spring/fall wardrobe for a while anyways. I think classic trench in beige is very versatile and timeless. It is safe to say that it should be a staple in every wardrobe. You can wear it every day, any occasion and pair it with about anything. For that reason I am not afraid to pay a little more in order to get great quality that will last forever.
Right now is the best time to start looking as the stores start to bring spring collections and the selection will be much bigger. I am not going to wait until a sale because I am sure that everything in my size will be gone. As always…..
Thinking about classic trench of course Burberry is the first brand that comes to my mind. Unfortunately, because of the price, this is the last coat I can buy. The quality, craftsmenship, fabric, fit- everything is absolutely perfect. Burberry trench is definitely my dream coat and I hope that one day I will be lucky to buy one. As for now, I had to turn my eyes towards other makers and actually I am pleased with their offer.
So far, I found a few interesting options, so if you are looking for a trench this year, I hope my research will make it easier and save you some time:)
…flared version from Banana Republic
…biker take on classic trench with zipper, very interesting idea
…still very streamline and the suede gives a 70’s vibe
…a little longer version without the belt, excellent option too
…very budget friendly but still great style
